Web Design Skills

  • WordPress – I’ve created several websites using WordPress, using both Elegant Themes and Ashe Pro. I have a little experience with the plugins for WooCommerce, Mailchimp, Elementor, WP Forms, and Yoast SEO.
  • HTML – In the past I’ve created websites using HTML, although I currently prefer WordPress. Basic structure, including Flexbox layout, is within my capabilities.
  • CSS – Formatting the HTML structure using CSS is something I’ve always found fun. There are so many options to make great-looking websites.

Office Skills

  • Average WPM: 
  • Average 10-key KPH: 
  • Word – I’ve used Word for decades and have written work-related correspondence, formatted novels, and have expertise using Word’s features to edit and manipulate documents.
  • Excel – I have intermediate experience with Excel, including conditional formatting, formulae, and creating my own spreadsheets to track and record data for analysis.
  • Outlook – I’ve used Outlook as my work-related email program for many years. I have experience with signatures, folders, and setting status and importance notifications.
  • PowerPoint – I have some experience using this software in school for presentations. 
  • Access/SQL – I’ve used databases in the past, including in school. I’m familiar with creating new tables, relationships using keys, and queries.
  • Data Entry – I’ve entered data from various sources into several different programs with very high accuracy.

Writing Skills

  • Novels – I’ve written a novel, a prequel, and the majority of the second novel in my series. I’ve also started two other novels, one being book three of the series, and the other being the first book in another series.
  • Poetry – I’ve written both in-character poetry from fictional characters in my world of Ansparia, as well as poetry related to life and other stories.
  • Blogs – I’ve written stories, in-character historical accounts, and articles on writing. I even did a mock interview with one of the amateur poets in my world of Ansparia.
  • Ad Copy – I don’t have a lot of experience with writing copy for ads but it’s a field I’d love to enter. I have done some for my novel, so I have a little experience.
  • Editing/Proofreading – Although I don’t have a degree in English, I do have a knack for finding mistakes in writing. I have good grammar skills, much to the annoyance of my friends and family. I’ve done developmental editing for several authors, with one going on to win publication in a magazine.
  • Formatting – I have experience formatting both poetry books as well as novels.

Social Media Skills

  • Facebook – I have a personal page and in the past have had experience with groups, messenger, and pages.
  • Instagram – I have a little experience with this social media, mainly viewing other people’s material. I have a little experience with making posts of my own, but I’d like to get more practice and expertise.
  • X/Twitter – I have experience with Twitter but it’s not a social media platform I use anymore. If necessary in a work environment, I can be active on it.
  • Pinterest – I have a little experience with Pinterest, but as with Instagram it’s one  in which I’d like to become more proficient.
  • YouTube – I have lots of experience watching and looking up videos (it’s great for how-to videos) but have only posted a couple videos.
  • TikTok/Snapchat – I have a little exposure from a social media marketing class in college, but I don’t use them.

Miscellaneous Job-Related Skills

Stocking – I’ve stocked merchandise at various grocery stores and made them look good.

QA Inspection – I’ve visually inspected products and components to ensure only good quality products pass. I’ve also performed QA on coworkers’ work to ensure it is done correctly.

Inventory – I’ve worked for two companies in counting inventory for retail stores, as well as received and recorded inventory.
